P 2836 Head Lice and Nits

Central R-III School District, in order to maintain a healthy environment in the school system, has a “no nit” policy to control the problem of head lice in the schools.  Head lice is a common occurrence and is easily transmitted in classroom situations.  It is the policy of the Board of Education of Central R-III School District to establish and maintain a “nit free” environment.  “Nit free” indicates that any student found to possess head lice or their “nits”, would be excluded from school until treatment is completed, all “nits” are removed and the student is examined and determined to be “nit free” by school personnel.
