P 2656 Student Cell Phone Usage

Developments in cell phone technology and other electronic devices in recent years have resulted in enhanced communication opportunities.  However, the use of cell phones in schools poses increasing risks of school disruptions, bullying, criminal activity, and academic dishonesty.  As a result, student cell phones, digital cameras, ipods and similar electronic devices are prohibited during the instructional day, as well as, in dressing areas during extracurricular activities. Images or pictures taken on school property are not to be posted to computers, other electronic devices, or distributed in any way without the express written consent of the administration. Use of any electronic device for bullying, criminal activity, academic dishonesty, or any other offense not listed here will result in discipline per applicable board policy(ies). Brining any electronic device to school implies the right to school officials to confiscate and search the device.
