Regular attendance is essential in providing District students with a high quality of instruction. Eligible certificated staff will have available Ten (10) days of sick leave per school year cumulative to Sixty (60) days.
Eligible support employees' sick leave is based on the number of months per school year employed by the district.
Example:
• 9 month employee= 9 days
• 10 month employee= 10 days
• 11 month employee= 11 days
• 12 month employee= 12 days
Sick leave per school year is cumulative on a monthly basis. Employee must complete a full month of employment to receive a sick leave day. Earned unused sick leave may cumulate to a total of Sixty (60) days.
When employees are absent more than Ten (10) days in any semester or more than Twenty (20) days per school year, their absence is considered excessive. The Superintendent will review each incident of excessive absence and may require the employee to provide medical documentation or may consider disciplinary actions up to and including termination.
