P 2540 Early Graduation

Graduation, with all attendant privileges, will be allowed any time after the seventh (7) semester of attendance beginning with grade nine and attainment of all requirements as set by the state and local School Boards. Students in the Keytesville R-III School District that want to graduate early must have met all local graduation requirements set forth by the Keytesville R-III School District, and also meet the following requirements:

  1. Must have twenty-nine credits by the end of their seventh (7) semester.
  2. Must write a letter to the Keytesville R-III Board of Education with their early graduation intentions by the second Monday of September.  That letter must be submitted to the Superintendent prior to the September Board of Education meeting.
  3. GED Options Students will have to meet all aspects of the “Early Graduation Policy”.  Failure to meet requirements will result in student only receiving his/her diploma.

If early graduation is granted by the Board of Education, a student will be able to participate in graduation ceremonies.  However, a student will not be able to participate in any co-curricular or extra-curricular activities as a member of the Keytesville R-III School District.  The student will also forfeit the right to be valedictorian or salutatorian during a graduation ceremony.  Other circumstances may be reviewed by building administration and the Board of Education.

The above requirements may be modified in exceptional cases with approval of the Board of Education, upon recommendation of the Superintendent.
