P 4310 General Attendance

Regular attendance is essential in providing District students with a high quality of instruction. Eligible staff will have leave as defined in the policy. The Superintendent/designee will review each incident of excessive absence and may require the employee to provide medical documentation or may consider disciplinary actions up to and including termination.

The following leaves with pay will be provided to full-time professional staff employees. Regular part-time professional staff employees will receive these leaves on a pro rata basis.

  1. Leave - To be eligible for leave, an employee must be hired to serve at least 20 hours per week or full-time for their position. One day of leave is equal to the number of hours the employee is hired to serve on a daily basis. Professional staff employees whose assignments call for 12 months of full-time employment will be entitled to 14 days of leave. Professional staff employees whose assignments call for 11 months of full-time employment will be entitled to 13 days of leave. Professional staff employees whose assignments call for ten months of full-time employment will be entitled to 12 days of leave. Professional staff employees whose assignments call for full-time employment only during the regular school term will be entitled to 11 days of leave. Unused leave will be cumulative to 90 leave days. Leave will be counted in increments of quarter days and multiples thereof.
