P 1300 Equal Opportunity

The District is committed to providing equal opportunity in all areas of recruiting, hiring, retention, promotion, and contracted service. The District further commits itself to the policy that there shall be no unlawful discrimination against any person because of race, color, religion, disability, age, gender, or national origin.

The District’s equal opportunity policy extends to prohibitions against harassment of students or employees because of the individual’s race, color, religion, disability, age, gender, or national origin. This prohibition against harassment includes, but is not limited to, disparaging comments, written material, physical assaults, verbal threats, and offensive pranks.  Persons who believe that they have been harassed in violation of this policy, should report the alleged harassment to their building principal or immediate supervisor unless this person is the alleged harasser.  In this case, the report should be made directly to the Superintendent. All complains of violation of this policy will be promptly investigated and appropriate action will be taken.
