P 4712 Retirement: Certificated Staff

Certificated employees who for any reason intend to retire or resign are encouraged to indicate their plans in writing to the Board as early as possible. Resignations become effective at the end of the school year in which they are submitted. Letters of resignation/retirement shall be submitted to the Superintendent/designee and the principal/supervisor.  The letter should state the reasons and an effective date for the resignation/retirement.

Retirements announced early will be eligible for the following bonus schedule.

  1. Retirement letter received by January 10th – 3% of signed contract salary
  2. Retirement letter received by February 10th – 2% of signed contract salary
  3. Retirement letter received by March 10th  – 1% of signed contract salary

The Board reserves the right to waive the bonus if it feels unusual circumstances warrant such waiver. Bonus is only for certified employees retiring in the Missouri Public School Retirement System (PSRS)
